6: Hakata Port - The Current
7: Why don't we have umbrellas?
8: Because then we wouldn't get any work done.
9: The people at the port have umbrellas, though.
10: The land and the sea are different worlds.
11: That's all there is to it.
1: We're currently 12km out of Kaneshima Bay.
2: There's a light rain, the waves are 1.5m, with 2~4m of swell.
5: What's wrong, Daisuke? Caught a cold?
6: Yeah... My nose is running a little.
3: Just the usual...
4: Two suspicious vessels have been spotted in Tatsutori Island Bay.
5: We will begin tracking them now.
6: Suspicious vessels?!
7: It's something we always do.
8: Smugglers, espionage...
9: We usually find something 5-6 times a year.
10: Usually they end up running away. Chasing them out is still our job, though.
11: It's no big deal.
1: We're almost there.
2: At 11 AM, the Coast Guard HQ received its first report from the Defense Agency. They discovered two suspicious vessels in Tatsutori Island Bay that did not have fishing equipment on board.
3: The ship names are "Jiroumaru #8" and "Hououmaru #1."
4: Jiroumaru #8 is a ship that was put out of service in 1992. Hououmaru #1 is currently still in operation in another area. The HQ confirmed this using the fishing boat registry,
5: then designated the two vessels as suspicious.
6: Currently, there are nine boats headed toward the area, including ours.
2: We might have some trouble here...
4: News Flash - "Two suspicious vessels without fishing equipment sighted in Tatsutori Island Bay. The Coast Guard is currently tracking them."
5: This looks...
6: just like...
8: We've got trouble.
9: On TV...
1: Here is footage of one of the suspicious ships, taken by the SDF with a P3C patrol plane.
2: Currently, the 7th District of the Coast Guard has sent patrol boats out to track them.
3: What's going on, captain?! That must be one of the vessels we're tracking!!
4: How did the news get to the media before us?!
1: We repeat, at 6:42 this morning, a P3C patrol plane
2: discovered two suspicious vessels without fishing equipment 9km out of Tatsutori Island Bay.
4: Ikezawa... What did you mean by 'Things don't look right?!'
5: Please, see for yourself.
1: A naval escort!!
1: What's going on?
3: Tracking a suspicious ship
4: is just a run-of-the-mill thing, right?
6: Just now, we received a call from the Asazuki, the naval escort, via the HQ.
7: Apparently, they're going to be assisting us from the rear.
2: The SDF discovered the suspicious ships at 6:42. But we received the news 4 hours later, at 11 AM.
3: Then, once we got to the scene, there was already a naval escort there...
4: Are we going to hear some explanation from the Ministry of Defense?
7: What did you think when you said the suspicious vessel on TV?
9: It did seem strange how there were so many antennas on top of it.
10: But... I guess it did look suspicious. The footage sort of convinced me...
1: It's probably...
2: a spy ship!!
3: A spy ship?
5: We always photograph suspicious vessels that we run into, and we have a wealth of documents on them.
6: Our data makes it clear that these types of ships are used for espionage purposes.
8: That isn't really anything unusual for these waters.
9: Then why...
10: was there a news flash, and why the naval escort?
1: I don't know...
2: But the news flash... and the fact that the SDF has mobilized are both reality.
